Lubrication of Door Locks,
240 Models, All
Stiff opening of doors from inside and outside may be caused by lack of lubrication. The grease used in production, in extreme cases, may dry out. Recommended grease: low temperature grease. Other greases provide insufficient cold weather protection.
1. Remove Latchplate
Unscrew and remove both Allen screws. Remove lock from door, taking care not to drop the inner part into door.
2. Engage Lock Position
Ease off plastic cover with a screwdriver. Remove dirt and dried grease, etc.
3. Smear parts with low-temperature grease.
Apply reasonable amount of grease to parts (A), arrowed. Refit cover and check that mechanism operates smoothly.

4. Install Lock
Check door alignment. If necessary adjust striker plate. Check function of lock.
